MasonIP for File to Tape transfers

The MasonIP is the perfect product to perform File to Tape transfers. It is a complete
stand-alone product, without the need of a computer or editing system. MasonIP is
the easiest product to get realtime live video output from a large variety of video files,
either for monitor viewing or for recording out to tape. This paper will discuss how
MasonIP fits into such an environment.
What is the MasonIP?
MasonIP is special type of video decoder. It is a stand-alone industrial player
with brodcast quality video and audio output. It can playback almost every type
of encoded file to SD or HD displays.
How does MasonIP play a file?
Since MasonIP has a network connection, MasonIP looks at servers on the network
and locates and plays any valid video file on any available server. MasonIP has a
built-in file browser, so with the hand-held IR remote control you can navigate
through folders on the servers to find and playback available files.
A Different Approach
Currently if you had some files you wanted to playback, your only option was to
download them to a computer and then attempt to play them back with a media player,
like Quicktime or Windows Media Player. You had to make sure the player was the
latest version, and had the correct codec, so that your file could playback. And then
hope that the playback was smooth without any stuttering. Of course, if you wanted
the file to be output into a video stream, for tape recording or display, then you were
out of luck. All you got was a window on the computer with your video. This does not
help anyone in the Broadcast or Television market.
So with this in mind, we created a new approach for media playback. The MasonIP is
